Isolation

This has been a side goal of mine for years, but I’m finally branching into adult romance through Evernight Publishing by getting involved with their Planet Alpha series. Planet Alpha is a multi-author series with over a dozen entries by authors including Pelaam, J.J. Lore, Lily Harlem, Mark Blackstone, Elliot Cooper, Nicola Cameron, Beth D. Carter, and Erin M. Leaf. All of these authors are well-known in the romance genre, and the books in this particular series are all ménage romance, though it varies between MMM, MMF, and MFM. My story is MMF, meaning skip along by if you don’t like romantic and sexual interactions between two men along with the woman they are involved with.

Planet Alpha is at its heart a sci-fi series, and the premise is below.

The year is 2050. Earth is quickly becoming uninhabitable. The seven continents are shrinking as flooding devastates the land masses. Crime and disorder are rampant among the dwindling human population.
There are only two safe havens in the galaxy capable of supporting humanoid life. Xyran is a world of power-hungry demons and Planet Alpha is home to a fearless warrior race.
The males on Planet Alpha need mates. Infertility has plagued their race for decades. The answer lies on Earth where tempting females are waiting to be saved. When their enemies attempt to claim the spoils of a dying world, on the strongest will get their prize.

Isolation began as my take on the Planet Alpha series because I wanted to go into the experience of what being unsuitable for the one escape route from Earth would look like. What if you didn’t qualify for a life raft on the Titanic? What would you do to survive? How far would you go, and how would you feel about everyone else being left behind?

Leah has one goal in life: to find a new planet for the humans ineligible to be Alphan mates. When the trading ship she purchased a berth on docks with a scout ship, her inability to tell the difference between Alphan and Xyran gets her into trouble.

Unwilling to leave the human with the vulnerable trade ship, Nalan immediately offers her a new place with them, knowing that this chance to bond with a human woman might be their only one.

As captain of the Zyzan, Gelar’s primary concern is making sure that Xyran pirates can’t flank Alphan space along with enjoying the year alone with his mate Nalan. To find a human this far out should have been impossible, and yet her ability to survive on the poisonous ship just to make a living intrigues them both. Humans aren’t allowed to leave Earth without an Alphan mate. Will her dreams doom the three of them?
